Yangtze River Cruise

The Yangtze River & Three Gorges -- one of China's top 10 scenic spots. Yangtze River & Three Gorges is the largest national geopark in China and the only navigable grand canyon in the world. It is also home to human-being's greatest project, the Three Gorges Dam.The three gorges of the Yangtze River is the general name of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. It is 204 kilometers long from Baidi City of Fengjie, Chongqing in the west to Nanjin Pass in Yichang, Hubei province in the east. Both sides of the river are stuck by high peaks. Taking the cruise to tour along Yangtze River, with shore excursions to see the essence of Three Gorges, is a fashionable and popular way to get in touch with China's indiscribable beauty. Among the world-famous Three Gorges, Qutang Gorget is the shortest one (8 km), however it is the most majestic and precipitous gorge. The deep water flows rapidly, passing by continuous hills, which constitutes a very magnificent picture. The scenic spots and historic sites of Qutang Gorge are numerous and concentrated.

Starts from Baidi City, Chongqing in the west and ends at Daxi town in Wushan County in the east

With a total length of 45 km, Wu Gorge is deep and famous for its beauty. It has long valley with towering mountains surrounded by clouds and fog. Ride a boat on the twisting and turning river, you will feel like entering the splendid gallery full of poetic. On the two sides of Wu Gorge, twelve peaks of Wushan Mountain ranges are very spectacular that Goddess Peak is the top one.

Xiling Gorge is the longest gorge (70 km) in the three gorges of Yangtze River​. In history, it is famous for its zigzagging waterway, fantastic rocks, shoals and rapids as well as dangerous boat rides. The well-known views are Sword Gorge, Ox Liver and Horse Lung Gorge, Kongling Gorge. Scenery in the gorge is beautiful that magnificent peaks towered on both sides of the river, with rocky cliffs and ancient trees that block the sunshine.

To do the Yangtze River Cruise tour, you need to get to Chongqing City or Yichang City where you can board the cruise. As Chongqing and Yichang are not big hubs of gateway cities in China, you may make connections from Chengdu to Chongqing which is only within 2 hours travel by high-speed train, or from Shanghai that is big city with most international flight lines and then fly to Yichang. *Downstream Route

Downstream route of Yangtze River Cruise starts from Chongqing and ends in Yichang. Compared with upstream route, it has shorter duration on the cruise while there is no motion during night.

Day 1

Board the Yangtze River Cruise in Chongqing Port. Sail out of the picturesque mountain city at about 21:30. Dinner excluded.

Day 2

Shibaozhai visit. If weather and water level permit, stop in Fengdu and visit Ghost Town. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 3

Lock cruise and change a small boat to ship into Goddess Stream. If water level allows, stop at Baidi City. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 4

Visit Three Gorges Dam. If  water level permits, you can take the lift at own expense. Disembark in Yichang. Breakfast included.

*Upstream Route

Upstream route of Yangtze River Cruise starts from Yichang and ends in Chongqing. Compared with downstream route, it has longer duration but with a slower pace that you can have more time to enjoy beautiful scenery and ancient history. Meanwhile, the cruise will travel during night.

Day 1

Take shuttle bus from Yichang Three Gorges Tourist Center or Yichang Railway Station to Maoping Port. Board the Yangtze River Cruise. Dinner excluded.

Day 2

Visit Three Gorges Dam. If weather and water level permits, you can take the lift at own expense, or visit three gorges family. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 3

Lock cruise and change a small boat to ship into Goddess/Shennong Stream. If  weather and water level allows, stop at Baidi City. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 4

Visit Shibaozhai, the "pearl of Yangtze river". According to weather and water level condition, stop in Fengdu/Wanxian. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included.

Day 5

Arrive in picturesque mountain city Chongqing in the morning. Disembark the Yangtze River Cruise at around 9:00. Breakfast included.

Each cruise ship is a mobile water palace and a beautiful traveling city! Gold series cruise was released in 2008, according to the national tourism administration of the inland river cruise star with reference to international ocean liner. The designed length of Gold cruise lines is 136~149.98 meters, the type width is 19.6~24 meters, the gross tonnage is 12,000 ~ 15,000 tons, and the carrying capacity is 350 ~ 570 people. It functions as five-star hotel with varieties of entertainment club facilities. Helipad, large double-deck movie theater and simultaneous interpretation conference hall are all firstly introduced in by Gold cruises, and the second batch of Gold cruises further equipped with simulated driving cab, children's paradise, golf driving range, circular racing track, billiard room and other recreational facilities.
